		<description>First off thank you for this great information.  
My SharePoint environment is using SSL, with a certificate issued from an Active Directory root CA in the same domain as our SharePoint Servers.  When I kick-off the Full Sync of the User Profile Service, and watch it via the MIISCLIENT.EXE, everything completes succesfully but the photos never get to Active Directory.  When checking the event log on our SharePoint Server, we are getting the following:
Event ID 8311 &quot;An Operation failed because the following certificate has validation errors:\n\nSubjectName: The root of the certificate chaine is not a trusted root authority&quot;.
Any insight into how we could continue troubleshooting this?
